How to Check Compatibility of Home Appliance Spare Parts Before Buying (India Guide)

3 min read

The most common reason a spare part is returned is not a defect – it is that the part did not fit. Brands change designs between models, and even the same model can have two versions. Here is the checklist Sparemaster uses every day to confirm compatibility before a customer pays.

Philips air fryer timer cover HD9216 – matched by model number

1. Find the exact model number

It is on the rating sticker – underneath a mixer/juicer base, on the back of an air fryer or OTG, inside the cooler body near the motor, on the side of a geyser, on the handle of a trimmer. Write the full code including the suffix: Philips HD9216/43 is not the same as HD9216/41; Symphony Diet 3D 30i differs from Diet 3D 30i+.

2. Match the manufacturer part number if you have it

Original parts carry a brand part number (e.g. Philips 300005421021, Havells 20004590). If your old part shows one, search that number on sparemaster.in – our product titles and descriptions include part numbers. A matching part number is a guaranteed fit.

3. Compare photos and dimensions

Every Sparemaster listing has a 1200×1200 photo on white. Compare the shape, number of teeth on couplers, blade mounting, connector type and wattage. For jars, count the coupler teeth (Sujata 6-teeth, Philips 4/6) and check the base diameter; for cooler pumps check voltage and outlet size; for heating elements check wattage and flange size.

4. Read the "fits models" line

Most of our descriptions list every model the part fits (e.g. "Fits Symphony Winter 80 XL i+, Winter i+, Diet 3D 20i/30i/40i"). If your model is not listed, do not guess – ask.

5. Ask us before you pay

WhatsApp the model-sticker photo and a photo of the old part to +91 81469 13127. We check the brand parts catalogue and confirm the exact part. This takes minutes and avoids a return.

Appliance-wise quick checks

  • Mixer grinder / juicer (Sujata, Philips, Maharaja Whiteline, Havells, Inalsa): coupler teeth count, jar thread size, blade shaft type.

  • Air fryer (Philips): HD (older) vs NA (newer) series motor units are different; timer knobs differ by series.

  • Air cooler (Symphony): pump model (VC306/VC410/VC706), motor shaft size (8 mm/12 mm), pad dimensions per model.

  • Geyser (Havells, Racold): element wattage and flange, thermostat type, PCB by model name (Puro, Senzo, Adonia).

  • Trimmer / shaver (Philips): comb and blade part codes by model (BT, QT, MG series).
